Mulled Wine

Bottle Red Wine
1/4

Bourbon

Brown sugar

Cinnamon stick

Orange slices

Star anise
Garnish

Star anise
Instructions
In a sauce pot on medium heat add all the ingredients except for the garnish ingredients.
Let the mixture come to a gentle simmer and stir around.
Once it is bubbling, remove from the heat and pour into desired glasses.
Garnish with a cinnamon stick, star anise and orange slice. Serve hot.
Notes
Don’t let the mixture boil for too long it will evaporate the alcohol content.
If it is too strong for you add a couple tablespoons of any fruit juice you like.
Don’t over do it as the sugar content will make it too sweet.
If you aren’t a fan of cinnamon or star anise use any spices you like, for eg: cardamom, nutmeg, vanilla or even some ginger.
