Mulled Wine

The easiest and tastiest Mulled Wine you will make and drink. It requires a few ingredients and a few minutes to make. Perfect recipe to warm you up this season.

Equipment

  • Small sauce pot
  • Stirring spoon
  • Mugs

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 Bottle Red Wine
  • 1/4 cup Bourbon
  • 3 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 2 Orange slices
  • 2 Star anise

Garnish

  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Orange slices
  • Star anise

Instructions
 

  • In a sauce pot on medium heat add all the ingredients except for the garnish ingredients.
  • Let the mixture come to a gentle simmer and stir around.
  • Once it is bubbling, remove from the heat and pour into desired glasses.
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick, star anise and orange slice. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Don’t let the mixture boil for too long it will evaporate the alcohol content.
  • If it is too strong for you add a couple tablespoons of any fruit juice you like.
  • Don’t over do it as the sugar content will make it too sweet.
  • If you aren’t a fan of cinnamon or star anise use any spices you like, for eg: cardamom, nutmeg, vanilla or even some ginger.
