30 Back To School Recipe Ideas For The Month

Here are some of my favorite recipes to make as we get into the swing of school with summer lingering on and the cooler months coming up. They are travel friendly and perfect for those tiffin boxes, either breakfast or lunch.

I think when you don’t have kids, back to school doesn’t have any meaning but my mum works with a school and even though I don’t have kids, I still understand what the school year means. As we set into the end of summer and the onset of fall, the cooler evenings bring on the school days and we are in the swing of a routine again. Now, these recipes are fit for everyone so don’t be fooled by them thinking they are perfect for kids. They are great for packed lunches, or breakfasts on the go as well because lets be honest, a lot of us as back from summer holidays and need inspiration to kick off those vacation blues.

The strategy for my back to school recipes must be that they travel well, taste delicious, be simple to make and they store well in the fridge so leftovers can be had over the days in the week. I like using ingredients in season as much as possible but things like cans, jars and boxed pantry items also help keep things easy and affordable too. While I love a yummy sweet treat, enjoying a savory bite also adds variety to the lunch box and that’s something we need. Using whole ingredients does help keep the boxes nutritious but we aren’t going for healthy as much as we are going for comforting, wholesome and delicious.

If you try these recipes out, don’t forget to share it with me on pinterest & instagram so I can see how it turned out. I’d love nothing more than to chat with you on your cooking/baking.
