Chocolate Pistachio Kunafa Stuffed Dates (VIRAL Dubai Chocolate Bar Style)

The viral Dubai chocolate bar flavors stuffed into a date. These dates are iso rich and simple to make but a delicious treat to make for your loved ones. A quick and easy treat to make and store in the fridge.

One of the most viewed recipes of 2024 has been the viral dubai chocolate bar which you must have heard about. It became all the rage and every one is making it today. The original dubai chocolate bar is from Fix chocolate (if you haven’t seen them I have linked their instagram account here for reference, so get inspired) and securing the goods are not as easy as they seem, as most often than not it is sold out. Having said this there are a lot of companies that have come out with variations and are selling them easily.

Apart from other companies making the same chocolate bar there are bakeries, cafes and restaurants incorporating the flavors in other desserts, dunkin donuts have come out with a dubai pistachio chocolate donut, while others have made bon bons, pastries, a for blogger Ayesha made delicious cookies, baked oatmeal, ice creams and desserts. Having said this I have made a cake inspired by those flavors and a croissant which you lot loved. Hence it only seemed fitting to make a stuffed date as it sounded delicious in my head and delicious it was to say the least.

What is the viral dubai chocolate bar? What is the famous chocolate bar in Dubai? Why is the dubai chocolate bar viral?

FIX dessert is a dessert bar that sells delicious sweet treats based in Dubai. They have a variety of chocolate bars that are not your everyday candy bars they are packed with a variety of flavors and textures to create the most delicious dessert bar. A creator on tiktok posted these chocolate bars which went viral and very soon people who travelled to Dubai and those to lived here wanted to get their hands on these dessert bars. They are simply yummy with the right amount of chocolate to filling ratio. Also they are huge in size, in comparison to the regular candy bars. As of now they don’t sell outside Dubai. Many people suggested you can find them at the airport but you cannot. The only way to get your hands on these bars is by purchasing them through the delivery app.

How to get the viral Dubai chocolate?

As for now, other than Abu Dhabi, it’s only available at 2pm and 5pm daily on the Deliveroo app in Dubai. And you’d better be quick because they sell out very fast.

What ingredients do you need to make these chocolate pistachio kunafa stuffed dates?

To make this recipe we need medjool dates, cashew nuts. You need large, soft and fleshy dates for this recipe. For the filling we need pistachio paste, kunafa pastry, ghee or butter. I have used melted dark chocolate and sea salt flakes on top. You can also use finley chopped pistachios to add more crunch into these dates.

What equipment do you need to make these chocolate pistachio kunafa stuffed dates?

I melted my chocolate in the microwave but you can use a double boiler if you prefer. We need a saute pan to toast the kunafa and a couple of mixing bowls with spoons to mix the mixture together. A knife to cut and pit the dates, I have also set them in the fridge.

How to make these chocolate pistachio kunafa stuffed dates?

In a sauté pan add the butter and toast the kunafa pastry. You can get it broken into fine pieces or just cut it yourself. Allow it to toast on low heat until lightly golden brown. Once colored remove from the heat and allow to cool. In the mean time melt the chocolate either in the microwave or over a double boiler (whatever you are comfortable with), once smooth., set aside too cool. Make a slit into each date and remove the seed, repeat with all the dates, set aside. In a mixing bowl add the pistachio paste, tahini and then the toasted kunafa pastry, stir together until combined. Stuff each date with a cashew nut, 1 tbsp worth of the pistachio filling and top with melted chocolate, sprinkle of sea salt flakes and transfer to a plate. Continue until all the dates are done, I also like topping the melted chocolate with plain toasted kunafa pastry. Place in the fridge for 5 minutes or until the chocolate has set. Serve with tea and enjoy.

Storing these chocolate pistachio kunafa stuffed dates?

These dates can be stored in air tight containers in the fridge for up to 1 month. I have made these as edible gifts for family friends as they keep well in gift boxes, travel safe, make for very rich and indulgent treats. If you are storing it at room temperature I would suggest placing it out of direct sunlight as the chocolate will melt otherwise.
