Easy Tuna Sushi Bowl in 10 mins

This sushi bowl recipe is an easy but fun way to make sushi at home without the fuss. It is a simple recipe to satisfy those sushi cravings and filled with spicy tuna, avocado, cucumber, carrot, sushi rice, kewpie mayonnaise, sriracha and togarashi seasoning.

Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup cooked sushi rice/sticky rice seasoned with 1 tsp soya sauce & 1/2 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 avocado sliced
  • 1/2 cucumber diced
  • 1/2 carrot julienne
  • 1 spring onion finely chopped
  • 1 sheet seaweed/nori strips
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp kewpie mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp togarashi spice
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

For the tuna -

  • 1 can tuna drained
  • 1/2 lime juice
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika powder
  • 1 tsp sriracha sauce
  • 1 tsp kewpie mayonnaise

Instructions
 

  • Cook the sushi rice as per the packet instructions or if using leftover rice make sure to season it with 1 tsp soya sauce and 1/2 tsp rice vinegar.
  • Drain the can of tuna and you can save the oil to something else if you like. In a bowl add the tuna, and tuna ingredients, stir to combine.
  • Prepare the cucumbers and carrots by cutting them as you like. Cut the avocado in half and slice.
  • Start by layering the bowl with the rice, add the drained tuna, prepared veggies. Top with sriracha, kewpie mayo, togarashi and seaweed. Serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • Once you assemble the sushi bowl, serve it immediately and do not leave it out as the tuna can go bad.
