I Tested The Viral Onion Ring Chips Recipe

These crunchy chips are so simple to make with just 2 ingredients, thinly sliced onions and parmesan cheese. They are ready in under 30 minutes and such a delicious appetizer recipe.

Equipment

  • Baking tray
  • Baking paper
  • Mandolin/Serrated knife
  • Grater

Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium onion golden/yellow
  • 200 g grated parmesan cheese

Optional -

  • Crushed black pepper
  • Dried oregano
  • Paprika powder

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180℃ and line a baking tray/cookie sheet with parchment paper, set aside.
  • Thinly slice the onions using a mandolin or a very sharp serrated knife. The thinner the slices the crispier the chips once they bake.
  • Sprinkle half the cheese in an even layer on the lined baking tray. Add the onion slices on top. At this point add any seasoning you would like.
  • Top with the remaining parmesan cheese and even out the layer.
  • Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until the top is bubbling, golden and has a browned edges.
  • Allow this to cool before cutting as it firms up once it cools down.
  • Cut into pieces and serve on its own or with your favourite dip.

Notes

  • Make sure the cheese is spread out evenly on the baking tray before baking.
  • Allow the cheese to cool before cutting, it firms up once cool.
