This hibiscus tea recipe is perfect for the season of ramadan but also during the summer. It is filled with mint, honey, lime and ice making for a cooling drink in the heat.

Ingredients
1cupHibiscus flower petals
4cupsWater
1cupIce
2tbspHoneyor more
5tspLime juice
10Mint leaves
1pieceLemongrass
Garnish
Mint leaves
Lime slices
Instructions
In a small pot on medium heat add the water, hibiscus flower petals, honey, lime juice, mint leaves and lemon grass. Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce the heat and allow it to simmer for 5-8 mins.
Strain into a tea pot, add ice and let it cool down for 10 mins before serving. Pour into glasses, garnish with mint leaves and lime slices. Serve cold with some dates to break your fast.
Notes
The longer you brew the tea the stronger it will get.
I like serving this tea cold but you could serve it warm as well. I wouldn’t garnish it with mint leaves if serving hot.
Add as much honey or sweetener you need to make it sweet enough.
