Maple Old Fashioned
The combination of maple syrup, bourbon, bitters and orange zest makes for a warming fall drink perfect for the season. Nothing fancy is needed to stir this recipe up hence you can make it in no time.

- 1 Ice cube large
- 5 ml Maple syrup
- 4 drops Angostura bitters
- 60 ml Bourbon
- Orange peel
In a short glass add the ball of ice.
Pour the maple syrup, the bourbon and the bitters. Stir around.
Using a sharp knife cut a sliver of the orange skin. Squeeze the skin over the cocktail.
Place the orange skin in the cocktail glass and garnish with a couple of cranberries. Serve immediately.
- If you don’t have a large ice cube tray use at least 3cubes of regular ice.
- If you have orange bitters you can use that.
- Cut the orange skin fresh as this retains the maximum oils from the skin.
