The BEST Everything Bagel Seasoning

The ONLY everything bagel seasoning recipe you need, filled with black and white sesame seeds, garlic, onion, salt, onion seeds, pepper and cayenne pepper. This is not your average seasoning, use it over eggs, fish, chicken or avocado toast.

Equipment

  • Spatula
  • Air tight jar

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp white sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp onion seeds
  • 1 tbsp garlic granules
  • 1 tbsp dried/fried onion
  • 1 tsp sea salt flakes
  • 1 tsp crushed black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions
 

  • In a sauté pan on low heat add the white sesame seeds, black sesame seeds, onion seeds and lightly toast until you can smell them in the air, around 1-2 minutes. If you are using dried onion you can add them in this step.
  • Once you can smell the seeds, add the garlic, crushed black pepper and fried onion - toast for 30 seconds stirring, take of the heat and allow the mixture to cool in the pan, stir it every now and then.
  • After its cooled down, add the salt, dried basil, cayenne pepper and stir together. Transfer to a glass air tight jar and store in a dry place for months.

Notes

  • If you are using dried onion you want to toast it with the seeds in step one.
  • Let the mixture cool completely before transferring to an air tight container.
