A simple fizzy drink that is refreshing and delicious but very easy to make. She is elegant and beautiful, perfect for an impromptu mothers day celebratory party.
My mother loves a good drink, she appreciates a simple recipe that checks all the boxes duly. This recipe is made for her as she not only loves strawberries but also loves a little sparkling. The beauty about this drink is that I have use Lyres non alcoholic spirits to make the drink. I promise you it tastes just like the real deal. I have no idea how that is even possible I sure is. This recipe is inspired by the Amalfi spritz but with my twist.
We need a strawberries, lemon, Lyres Italian spritz the Lyres Classico (a little sparkling). The ingredients are very simple as is the recipe but believe me when I say it is delicious. Not to mention very pretty to look at. The Italian spritz is fruity and has delicious citrus notes to it. You could use other berries if you like but this is a great combination!
We need a glass to muddle the strawberries which means we also need a muddler. I have used a champagne flute glass and wide long stem cocktail glass to serve these drinks but you can use long stem wine glasses or any glass you have would work too.
I would recommend muddling the mixture ahead of time if you are making many drinks in one go, pour into glasses and top with sparkling when ready to serve. The strawberry mixture can be blended into a puree as well but I like a few chunks. You could use fresh herbs like mint and thyme to add a bit more flavor if you like. I have used a fresh strawberry as a garnish but you can use a slice of lemon as well.
This is a fruity drink hence I would recommend serving it with breakfast, brunch or dessert. Ideally serve it like you would a mimosa. You can serve this with eggs Benedict, a delicious quiche, salads or even sandwiches. As for dessert, you can serve this with any chocolate treat or better yet and serve it with my classic pound cake recipe.
