Simple and yummy cocktail to make for Easter. A twist on the classic mimosa that is just orange juice, elderflower cordial and champagne. Perfect drink recipe to pour up in no time.
Happy Easter to everyone celebrating, if you aren’t celebrating that doesn’t mean you cannot enjoy this drink recipe. This is a simple and delicious cocktail recipe to enjoy during spring or summer. The beauty about it is that simplicity to pour it up. If you like orange juice/citrus based recipe then this is the one for you. Even though the British have popularized brunch, the first Mimosa was actually served at The Ritz Hotel in Paris in 1925. Frank Meier is said to be the inventor of the drink.
Making mimosas are not difficult also they come together very easily. Furthermore it is the perfect morning drink/brunch drink to get the day started. The elderflower cordial is a delicious floral addition to the recipe. When making this cocktail it best to have the orange juice and champagne chilled. I like adding a little lemon juice into the drink but a small lemon wedge as garnish also looks pretty.
This recipe is a great crowd pleaser too. If you don’t have access to champagne I have made this with a sparkling and it works well. Same goes with the orange juice as well, you can use any citrus juice you would prefer. Or a combination of juices as well. Better yet, you can use any fruit juice you like. You can pour this into a pitcher or serve it in glasses individually.
This works well with breakfast or brunch. You can serve it with eggs Benedict, the squash and stilton quiche, chicken puffs, salads, etc. As for desserts you can serve it with any sweets you like as it is versatile and pairs well with everything. I love serving it with the chocolate mousse as well. I would also suggest serving it with my tomato galette.
