Immunity Shot - Turmeric Ginger Lemon

The ONLY Immunity shot you need, which has so many health benefits. It is simple and cheap and chips to make at home. Not to mention, better.

I know everyone is on the new year new me kick but I am here to tell you I’ve been having these shots for over a year and they are AH-MAZING!!! There are many ways to make immunity shots which can have a variety of ingredients. BUT if there was one immunity shot mix that you must have and make on the daily it has to be these turmeric ginger lemon shots.

What are immunity shots and what are their benefits?

There are two types of immunity shots, one is the type we are making today – blending ingredients together and drink it daily. The other type are injections. These immunity shots (the one we are making) help strengthen your immunity and helps protect you from cold, flu and is a natural source of Vitamin C. This helps fight off sickness and prevents fatigue. They are a great wellness addition to your day.

What ingredients do you need to make these turmeric ginger immunity shots?

These immunity shots include fresh ginger, turmeric root, cayenne pepper powder, black pepper powder and lemons. Sometimes I have used limes instead of lemons. the cayenne pepper powder and black pepper powder is a must, they help the nutrients get absorbed into your system. I also like to add a little pink Himalayan salt. If you don’t have turmeric root you can use organic turmeric powder. I don’t often suggest organic produce but here I would recommend it.

What equipment do you need to make these turmeric ginger immunity shots?

I have made these shots with a slow juicer aka the Kuvings juicer. I have made them in my Nutri bullet and the blender. If you are making it in a blender you will need to strain out the fiber. I do this with a fine strainer, or a nut milk bag or a kitchen tea towel. Keep in mind whatever you use to strain it, the mixture will stain it. Hence I would recommend keeping it aside every time you need to make these shots (which I make weekly). I also use gloves as I don’t want my nails to always be yellow. You could use a wooden spoon or any rubber spatula.

How to make these turmeric ginger immunity shots?

If you are making this in your juicer you can add the ingredients into the juice and let it do its thing. However if you are making it in the blender, add the ingredients into the blender, mix until its smooth and pour it though a fine mesh strainer. At first let it drain out the liquid on its own. Get a glove and squeeze out the pulp in your hands. Pour the liquid into an air tight container and refrigerate for up to 1 week.

Consuming and storing these turmeric ginger immunity shots?

I always store these shots in a glass air tight jar/bottle and pour them out into shot glasses everyday when I am drinking it in the morning. It must be in the fridge. I like to drink it on empty stomach in the morning before I consume anything else.

Here are some commonly asked questions about immunity shots for your knowledge:
