This a summer must have drink. Its fresh and fruity that’s fit for any time of day. This is a non alcoholic version making for a spruced up fruit punch.
A Sangria is traditionally a Spanish drink made predominately from red wine. I cannot tell you much about a Sangria in this recipe as it is a non alcoholic version of the actual deal.
I know, purists or people from Spain will laugh at me when I say this drink is non alcoholic. Also, they would absolutely hate the fact that I am suggesting to make a sangria without wine cause that just sounds stupid but I am not trying to convert you here. I am not trying to tell those who drink Sangria’s out of pitchers to have this and say its the same. Because I know it’s not. I am here to tell you to give this drink a go and its a great option for those who don’t drink alcohol.
Now there are a lot of fruit juices that go into this Sangria. I have not used fresh here but you must know that the lemon juice has to be fresh. It is the balancing factor of the sweetness or else the entire ensemble will be tooth numbingly sweet to digest.
In saying this, the fruits you use also balance out the freshness and overall taste. Ive used some of my favorite options here but you can use any you like, just make sure they balance out the flavors.
I will tell you that you absolutely could add a little vodka, gin or white rum into the this to make it a cocktail that you didn’t know you needed, my mother personally loves adding vodka into this and having it like a cocktail.
The Sangria will last in your fridge for a day or two but nothing longer than that as there are fresh fruits in it. This drink in made in a pitcher which you pour out from. Ideally this is a great party drink to make and snuggles itself well into summer.
Food Pairing: all kinds of seafood work well in this recipe. Steamed fish, grilled sea bass, lobster, pan fried scallops, prawns or crabs. But since this recipe contains no alcohol it also works well with pasta dishes and hearty salads.
With no more time to waste, let’s make this mocktail, you can watch how I made it here. Happy stirring ninjas!
