Yogurt Jello Recipe - VIRAL Healthy Tiktok Dessert

This healthy dessert needs only 2 ingredients and is so creamy and delicious! Serve it chilled with more yogurt and fresh berries for the perfect summer sweet treat. 

This recipe went viral last year on TikTok and I don’t know who started the tredn, if you do, comment their account below and I will add them into the blog. However, I couldn’t understand why. Then I made it months later only to make it on repeat every single month after that. It is such winner and can be customized to any of your favourite flavors and toppings. 

It is a healthy recipe and you don’t need much to make it, sugar free flavored jelly box, greek yogurt and water is all you need. The addition of greek yogurt makes it high in protein and dessert recipe that is better for you. However there are many serving options. 

What is yogurt jello?

It is basically a packet of jelly box mix made with greek yogurt and hot water. It is stirred together and set in the fridge for a few hours until it is set. Once firm you can serve it with more yogurt or fresh fruit. 

What equipment do you need to make this yogurt jello?

We need a mixing bowl, spoon and glasses to set the jello. I like to set it in the fridge overnight. I used a combination of glasses and a mould to over turn it once set like you would a flan. 

How to make this yogurt jello?

To make this yogurt jello we start by boiling water. Empty the jelly packet powder into a large mixing bowl and add the hot water. Stir until dissolved. Add the greek yogurt and stir well till combined. Pour into glass containers and allow to set in the fridge for 3 hours minimum or overnight. Serve it chilled with more greek yogurt and top with fresh berries. 

Substitutes to make this yogurt jello?

I have used a raspberry flavored jelly box that is sugar free but you can use any fruit flavored jelly packet. I have made this with strawberry, lemon, mango but raspberry is my favourite. If you use greek yogurt it makes the recipe high in protein. I would suggest using a low fat or zero fat greek yogurt to make this even lighter. 

Storing and serving options after making this yogurt jello?

You can serve the jello with more greek yogurt, zero fat whipped cream and fresh berries or any fruit. I also like adding granola or toasted nuts on top for crunch. A dusting of cinnamon also adds a delicious flavor. Sometimes I like adding a little vanilla extract into the jello before setting as well.  The leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 5 days. I wouldn’t suggest storing it any longer as it will dry out in the fridge.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 packet jelly box mix raspberry flavor
  • 250 gm greek yogurt
  • 250 ml water

Optional

  • Serve with more greek yogurt and greek yogurt

Instructions
 

  • Start by boiling water. Empty the jelly packet powder into a large mixing bowl and add the hot water. Stir until dissolved.
  • Add the greek yogurt and stir well till combined. Pour into glass containers and allow to set in the fridge for 3 hours minimum or overnight.
  • Serve it chilled with more greek yogurt and top with fresh berries.

Notes

  • If you want a firmer jello add less water and if you want a softer jello add a little more water.
  • Keep in mind every jelly packet might be different in weight hence check the package instructions, the amount of liquid you need should be half warm water and half greek yogurt. So: if the packet asks for 500ml liquid you will use 250gm greek yogurt and 250ml warm water.

  1. I don’t know about you but my jelly packet says 250ml of hot water and then 250ml of cold water. Do I half that and do 125ml of hot and then 125ml of cold,and the other 250ml yoghurt?
