No Churn Creamy Peach Sorbet

Creamy and vibrant no churn peach sorbet made with just 3 ingredients! The recipe uses frozen peaches, bananas, lime juice and that’s it! It is simple, plant based and very delicious, perfect “ice cream” for the summer.

If you are looking for a simple, healthy and delicious summer dessert then look no further. This is my vegan peach sorbet filled with frozen peaches, bananas, lime juice and love. When I say vegan I mean it is accidentally vegan, I didn’t plan on this recipe becoming plant based but it is so creamy and delicious you don’t miss the dairy here. It is a no churn recipe which means you don’t need an ice cream machine to make this creamy dessert recipe. We do need a blender to make it though.

I love no churn ice creams/nice creams/sorbets as they are perfect to make homemade recipes. Th beauty about it is that it is plant based but also it is healthy. A fantastic way to include more fruit into your diet still keeping the fiber and enjoying a yummy summer treat that requires little to no time and effort of yours. There is no added sugar in this recipe as we use up those overripe bananas which makes it nutritious and yummy. So let us get to it.

What ingredients do you need to make this No Churn Creamy Peach Sorbet?

Peaches –

We need fresh peaches to make this recipe. Whatever you do, do not use canned peaches in syrup or juice. They will not have the same flavor. You could use fresh apricots or nectarines if you down have peaches.

Bananas –

Ideally over ripe bananas are the best option for this recipe. It gives the sorbet a natural sweetness. I love storing my overripe bananas in zip lock bags in the freezer and using them in these recipes or even in smoothies. You do need the bananas in this recipe as it gives the sorbet that creamy texture.

Lime juice –

I use freshly squeezed lime juice. This balances the sweetness but also keeps the color of the sorbet vibrant and bright.

Add ons –

I love adding a pinch of salt in my desserts and this recipe is no exception. It helps bring out the natural flavors of the fruit. I have also used a little white rum here but you could use any alcohol you prefer or substitute it with water. The alcohol helps the sorbet freeze to the right amount without making it too difficult to scoop later. You could add cinnamon powder, vanilla or maple syrup to add more sweetness if needed. Some toasted walnuts or almond would be a delicious addition of crunch too.

What equipment do you need to make this No Churn Creamy Peach Sorbet?

As mentioned before this is a no churn sorbet which means we make the mixture in a food processor. You can use a blender as well but you will need to scrape down the sides of the blender with a spatula. While blending, if the mixture is taking time to get combined, give your equipment a little break and switch it off, the fruit will defrost slightly and help the blending process. I have stored the ice cream in a loaf tin but any container works well. If you are storing it for over a month ideally you want to store this in an air tight container.

How to make this No Churn Creamy Peach Sorbet?

We start chopping up the peaches and bananas. Squeeze a lime over the fruit and transfer to a zip lock bag. Let this freeze over night. The next day transfer the frozen fruit to a food processor and add the water. Blend it on low speed, gradually increasing the speed. Scrape down the sides of the food processor every now and then. Keep blending until everything is smooth. Transfer it to a container/tin, scoop and serve. Alternatively place the container in the freezer and serve as required.

How to serve and store this No Churn Creamy Peach Sorbet?

This sorbet is packed with flavor on its own but you can serve it with a dusting of cinnamon, wafer biscuits or nuts. Store it in the freezer for up to 3 months and enjoy homemade sorbet as and when you like.

  1. In your introduction, you mention frozen peaches. But your recipe calls for fresh peaches. Which is it, please?

    1. This recipe works best when you use fresh peaches and freeze them as when you buy frozen peaches they might have added preservatives or the skin might be removed which means they were blanched etc. Hence I like using fresh and freezing them, I have a video on how to make it on my instagram.
