Rose Milk

A simple drinks recipe that is cooling, floral and very easy to make. It is pink and pretty making for a delicious valentines day mocktail recipe.

If you are looking for a quick drink recipe this valentines day, look no further. This homemade rose milk is pretty in pink but more importantly it is very delicious. I have made an easy homemade rose milk syrup that is floral and yummy. Growing up I loved rose milk but we always used the rose syrup from the store which I found excessively sweet, even as as child. This syrup is not very sweet as you can adjust the sweetness as you wish.

To make the syrup I use dried rose flowers (you could use fresh – just make sure you are using rose petals and not the stems, leaves etc), water, sugar, beetroot (this is mainly for color) and a little rose water. I like to freeze the syrup in heart shape ice cubes and use them in the drink will serving.

I have made this drink with regular milk and oat milk you could use any milk of your choice but keep in mind the taste of the milk will change the over taste of the drink so don’t use something that would affect the flavor like coconut milk. I like to top with with whipped cream as well for additional creaminess but this is totally optional. The syrup stores well in the fridge for weeks and in the freezer for couple of months. This is heart shaped ice cube tray I used.

Food pairing –

This drink would pair well with most desserts but I would recommend serving it with the pound cake, the red velvet cheesecake bars and the skillet cookie. If you are looking for more valentines day drink recipe ideas then make sure to check out the VDAY Smoothie and the No milk hot chocolate.
