Single Serve Dessert Recipes For Valentines Day

These are the BEST small portion dessert recipes. They are my simple single serve recipes for all us singles out there. They are quick and delicious!

Looking for easy and delicious, small portion sweet treats this Valentines day? I gotchu! If there is one thing I love it is a single serve dessert/recipe. Single or not these recipes are my go to when I need a quick fix recipe to curb those cravings at anytime. There are a few things to keep in mind when making single serve or small portion recipes which I will get into but for now I must say my plans this Valentines Day is to bake single serve recipes, play romantic comedies, drink some sparkling and relax.

My first single serve recipe was a chocolate cake and boy oh boy was it not a better way to kickstart my single serve recipe journey. You must know when testing single serve recipes, ive had more failure than success as they can be very temperamental and I try to keep them simple form the ingredients point of view which makes it even more tough to achieve the desired outcome. So, if I have a recipe posted with specific substitutes and variations it is because I have tried and tested them.

Even though these single serve desserts are the BOMB and perfect to bake up for yourself, they are a great way to get you into the kitchen to bake because you don’t need a lot of ingredients or equipment to make them. Surprise your partner with a a homemade sweet treat this year as well, why not? It is so romantic to make something for someone you love, specially food. Pro Tips For Single Serve Recipes:

  1. Measure you ingredients, either with a weighing scale or tablespoons and tea spoons. These are measured spoons and not our dining cutlery. A little amount of ingredients are needed to make these small portion recipes and you need to accurately measure out your ingredients to ensure they are perfect once baked.
  2. Use your hands to remove any of the ingredients (like butter, peanut butter etc) from the spoons/cups when using them. This helps to maintain the quantity of the ingredient when baking.
  3. Always scrape bowls and spoons into your batter/dough. This will make sure you haven’t lost any of the batter in the bowl, giving you the perfect baked treat once done.
  4. Preheat your ovens, just because you are not baking a large dessert doesn’t mean you shouldn’t preheat the oven as this will help bake your cake/cookie in the right amount of time.
  5. Do not over bake your recipes. Keep in mind you are baking small portions here which means they would bake faster as the quantity is less in a huge oven. I would always recommend under baking and checking the recipe if its done (a toothpick test for cakes) ahead of the desired time as ovens are different.
  6. When serving single serve recipes there are many options but for cakes you must let them cool completely before frosting and glazing etc. I like to put them in the fridge for 10 minutes or so until cold and then finish. As for cookies serve them as they are warm or you could serve them cooled down or with a scoop of ice cream to make ice cream sandwiches for one.

Now that we have covered how to make single serve recipes, you can have a look at my socials for the videos but let’s get to it.
