50+ Recipes to Make in November 2026: Cozy Fall Baking, Comfort Food & Thanksgiving Ideas

Discover 50+ recipes to make in November, from pumpkin bread and apple desserts to cozy fall dinners, Thanksgiving-inspired dishes and holiday baking ideas.

Welcome back to another monthly recipe roundup! If you have been following along with my seasonal recipe lists, you will know that I love putting together collections of recipes that reflect the time of year. From summer desserts and fresh seasonal ingredients to the autumn recipes that make their way into my kitchen every year, these roundups are all about finding inspiration for what to cook and bake next.

November is here, and I think we can officially embrace all things cozy! It is the time of year when I want to bake a little more, cook something comforting for dinner, make an extra cup of coffee and find every possible excuse to use cinnamon, pumpkin, apples and brown butter. There is something about this time of year that makes being in the kitchen feel especially inviting. Also considering we are the month before Christmas – which is my favorite time of year! Autumn flavours are still very much on the menu, Thanksgiving inspires us to prepare comforting meals and generous desserts. It is the perfect time to revisit those pumpkin recipes you have been meaning to make, bake an apple dessert for the weekend, prepare a warming soup for dinner or try a new bread recipe.

Although not everyone experiences a traditional cold autumn (I know we don’t in UAE), I think we can all create a little cozy-season magic in our kitchens. For me, that means homemade cakes, soft cinnamon rolls, rich chocolate desserts, creamy pasta dishes, warming spices and meals that bring everyone to the table. So, if you are looking for recipes to make in November, easy autumn baking ideas, Thanksgiving-inspired recipes, cozy fall dinners or delicious desserts to prepare before the holiday season begins, I have put together a collection of recipes to inspire you throughout the month. Put the kettle on, preheat your oven and let’s get cooking and baking!

What to Cook and Bake in November?

November sits somewhere between the warmth of autumn and the excitement of the festive season. It is a month for comforting food, seasonal ingredients and recipes that feel a little more special without requiring an entire day in the kitchen. Think pumpkin bread for breakfast, apple desserts for the weekend, homemade bread to serve alongside soup, comforting pasta dishes for dinner and chocolate bakes for those evenings when you fancy something sweet. It is also a wonderful time to start planning your holiday menu. Recipes that can be prepared ahead, baked in batches or frozen for later can make December entertaining feel much more manageable. For this month’s roundup, I am focusing on five themes: fall and autumn baking, Thanksgiving-inspired recipes, cozy comfort food, warming drinks and desserts, and recipes to get you ready for the holiday season.

Seasonal Ingredients and Products to Cook and Bake With in November:

One of my favourite things about November is the opportunity to get creative with seasonal ingredients and make the most of the flavours that define autumn. From pumpkin, apples and pears to sweet potatoes, butternut squash, carrots and mushrooms, there are so many ingredients that lend themselves beautifully to cozy fall recipes. These vegetables and fruits work just as well in savoury dishes as they do in sweet bakes, whether you are making a warming pumpkin soup, a creamy risotto, an apple crumble or a spiced loaf cake. I also love reaching for warming spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves and cardamom, which instantly bring a little autumn comfort to cakes, cookies, hot drinks and breakfast recipes. November is also a good time to stock your pantry with a few versatile baking and cooking essentials ahead of the busy holiday season.

Keep ingredients such as all-purpose flour, brown sugar, caster sugar, baking powder, baking soda, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, chocolate chips, maple syrup, oats and nuts on hand for spontaneous baking sessions. For savoury cooking, vegetable or chicken stock, good-quality olive oil, butter, pasta, rice, dried herbs and your favourite cheeses are useful staples for creating comforting soups, creamy pasta dishes, risottos and oven-baked meals. If you enjoy experimenting in the kitchen, products such as a sturdy baking tin, a loaf pan, a Dutch oven, a reliable frying pan, a stand mixer and a digital kitchen scale can make seasonal cooking and baking much easier. Having these ingredients and kitchen essentials ready means you can spend less time planning and more time enjoying homemade food, whether you are preparing an everyday November dinner, baking something special for Thanksgiving or getting a head start on your Christmas recipes.

How to Plan Your November Cooking and Baking

With so many recipes to choose from, I find it helpful to think about what I actually want to eat throughout the week rather than trying to make everything at once. Here are a few ways to make this month’s recipe list work for you. Most importantly though, leave yourself room to experiment. Seasonal cooking should be enjoyable, and not every recipe needs to be saved for a special occasion.

  1. Choose one weekend baking project – Make a pumpkin bread, apple cake or batch of cinnamon rolls that you can enjoy over a few days.
  2. Prepare one comforting dinner – A soup, risotto or baked pasta dish is a good place to start when you want something satisfying without overcomplicating dinner.
  3. Keep a quick dessert bookmarked – Recipes such as the pumpkin mug cake and brownie mug cake are useful when a craving strikes.
  4. Try one new seasonal ingredient combination – Pumpkin and brown butter, apple and cinnamon, or coffee and chocolate are all wonderful flavour pairings to explore.
  5. Make a holiday preparation list – Choose a few recipes that you can practise, prepare ahead or adapt for guests before December arrives.
